Ricky-

Can't speak from experience on this one, but the way I read the
datasheet it looks like this lets you "assign" an address to slaves
via jumpers, hook them all up to the same master, then select one of
up to eight via the control byte.

Regards,

Steve

    Has anyone used a DS1621 temp sensor from Dallas Semi? If so on the chip there
    are 3 address input pins, what are these for?

    Hi Ricky,

    You can use up to 8 DS1621 on the same bus. Then you need to assign each
    chip a different address (3 bits -> 8 combinations).

    Phil.

    Thanks guys! The data sheet does not mention this or the fact that they
    NEED to be tied low or high depending on what control code you use. I kept
    getting 255 for a reading and I tied them all low and it works perfect now.
