I am planning to make a plant watering system using a Real Time Clock
IC with Microcontroller, does any one here can help me to configure a
real time clock IC with alram to trigger a relay, or a PIC Basic
program for a real time clock which is presettable with dislay (Seven
Segment ) and has an alram.

Thank you very much.

    Greetings,

If you take a moment to browse the www.parallaxinc.com and
www.stampsinclass.com websites you will find lots of information on
realtime clocks, and measuring many different types of things. If
you go to the downloads section you will see a tutorial called
Earth Measurements , this course covers many things that you have
touched on in your question. If you first design your project with a
stamp, you can then move all the principles to a PIC, a 8051 or what have
you. By completing all the excersises in the tutorial, you will have a
broader sense of what you can do with a stamp and of several ways that
accomplish the same task...( hopefully one will be superior to your
    application.
