I am student of architecture working with interactive/responsive
environmental designs... I am attepting to have a stepper motor respond
through a Basic Stamp 1 to movements/proximity to sonar... I already
have simple behaviors set in, I just don't know how to decode distances
of the sonar to through the chip to the stepper. If anyone has any
ideas please advise....

and found the ultrasonic module that you refer to. Is the included
DataSheet adequate for a novice who's never wired this module before?
(Are there any appnotes with examples geared specifically to the
stamp?)
Any and all info appreciated!
Thanks,

works good. It is real small in a convenient size, and works from 2 inches
out to around 60-68 inches. www.acroname.com has them for sale at about
$25.00 each. They use the simple PulseIn or RCTime examples like the
Polaraoid rangefinders do.
I find them to be more useable over the Polaroid units for close range work
below 20 inches or so. But then it's fun to scrounge the parts out of a old
Polaroid camera too.
