Sleep function... can be used as a timer?

Hello,
More than likely a stupid question, but... I want to have my BS2 wake up from
sleep every hour on the hour do something, then go back to sleep. I need exactly
24 cycles per day for one year. How accurate is the sleep function as a timer.
At the end of the year will it have lost or gained time?

Richard

Not a stupid question... I asked the same thing when I started my 'clock'
    project.

I believe the stamp's timer is accurate to +/- 1% I found mine were off
about 1 minute per hour... Wouldn't work in your application... (it would be
off by 146 hours by the end of the year) I don't have the link here (at
work) but I do have a link at home which shows how to connect a crystal
resulting in much more accurate timing. Maybe someone here knows a better
way. By the way, I decided to just use the onboard timer for my
    application.

    Thanks,

    John
