Basic stamp to control brightness of 110vAC light circuits

Hi,
I need a circuit that will allow me to use a basic stamp to control the
brightness of several 110vAC incandescent lamps. I'd like to use a triac to
control the 110 I just need a circuit to connect the output from the stamp
to the gate of the traic to control the 110. I can't have any flicker on the
lamp, just a steady dim. Any ideas?
What type of protection do I need to isolate the triac's gate from the stamp
I/O?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Tim

I have had time to research the query and have the following
suggestions:

There is one circuit for AC & one for DC. If you decide to make a PCB
circuit for either of these, let me know.
Also the following link will provide more info if you need it:

kind regards,

voltage - 0 to 10VDC. Drive it with a DAC from the BS.
Works great, though a little pricey $22 from Jameco.
I think it will handle 500 watts.

Here's one option: You can accomplish this with a Stamp, a pair of
optocouplers and a few supporting components. Use one opto chip with a fast
transistor output with high CTR to detect zero-crossings. When this input
changes state have the Stamp pulsout after a pause, the length of which is
determined by another input and rctime (your voltage input). Let the pulsout
fire a second optocoupler with a triac output into your power triac's gate.
Of course you'll have to set each opto LED's and the triac gate current with
properly sized resistors.
The result is a $5 dimmer. The downside is the limit imposed by the Stamp
pause - in 1 msec increments. I have done this w/ BS2 and had only 15
dimming levels, but it was reliable.
