Hey there, Im really confused on how to control these chips! If
anyone could provide me a description of the serout syntax I would
need to run it, and the pulsout syntax I would love it. Heres the
chips:
MM5451:http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%
5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F010%5F005%5F002%5F012&product%
5Fid=900%2D6843
MM5450:http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%
5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F010%5F005%5F002%5F012&product%
5Fid=900%2D6842
And here the schemtics on them:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

after looking at the spec sheets on the 5451 chip, I think you'd be
wanting to use a shiftout type instruction where you can connect a pin
off the stamp to the clock input on the 5451. Also you might have to
tweak the shiftout instruction data a little to get the specified
number of bits you need, I think the spec sheet on the 5451 mentioned
something like 35 bits or something like that. Take a look in your
manual about the shiftout/shiftin instructions, you should be able to
apply this to your application with a little tweaking.
Some of these other guys on the list might be able to help you with
your shiftout woes a little better than me if you run into trouble.
Good luck!
