I'm doing my senior desing project at Rutgers University, and I am
trying to find out what kind of I/O Board I can use to control four
timers so that they turn on and off via a computer interface.

Thanks, Joan

Theres a company called Fascinating Electronics that sells a a board
called the Experimenterthat connects to your PCs serial port . I bought
one of these many years ago and its really a neet board. The board I
have was run under Qbasic I dont know what the new ones run under.
Basically the way it works is a program is written on your PC , the PC
then sends commands to the experimenter to do whatever you want it to. It
    has all the necessary
hardware all you need to do is connect some wires to it.
Its not a standalone computer, you dont download programs to it. This
board is very easy to use even if you dont know alot about programming.
The manual also gives alot of programming application samples.
The phone number I have is 1800-683-5487 or 503-292-5233

Along the same lines is a device made by Labjack (www.labjack.com). It
connects to a PC via USB and has 2 analog outputs, 8 single-ended analog
inputs (or 4 differential), and even a counter or two. All for $99. I'm
pretty sure it comes with all the necessary drivers & software. Looks
like a good deal if it works as advertised...
