RPM''s and the stamp

Alternatively, glue a small magnet to the shaft and position a Hall effect
detector at one position with about a 1 mm gap from the rotating magnet.
Digikey has both the detectors and magnets at low cost. I use crazy glue on
the magnets, and have never lost one yet.
