control Pioneer DVD Video Player

Has anyone succesfully controlled a Pioneer DVD player with a Basic Stamp?
I'd like to use 3 basic stamps 'networked' together to control three
DVD-V7400 players through their rs-232c ports.

I've found information on people controlling the old Pioneer laser disc
players with Basic Stamps, and I have read that the control codes are the
same for the new dvd players, but I would like to hear from anyone who has
already tried.

Thanks, Bob.

    Hi Ray,

If you go to the old Stamps Mailing list at:
    http://www.jamesrusso.com/stamp/
and do a search for "Pioneer" or "laser disc", you will find lots of
    info on controlling your player.

Also some sample code can be found at:
    http://www.hth.com/filelibrary/bs1-ic/vdisc.zip

I also have Pioneer Laser disc players here at the office, that I
have been trying to control from my windows computer, but I haven't
had any luck yet. I think I've either got the wiring in the cable
wrong, or I'm not using the correct serial port settings. If you are
able to get yours working, I'd like to hear from you.

    Hope this helps,
    Bob.

I have done it with a PIC 16C74A. I see no problem doing it with a stamp.
