Battery operation.

Sorry guys (and gals?) but your the smartest group I know, so I have to ask:
Is it conceivable to operate a 6V lantern battery upside down? I know it
seems like a dumb question, but all other batteries are a lot more 'sealed'
the lantern battery has what looks like cardboard top and bottom.
This is the final leg of my 1st real stamp project. If it is ok, I'm all
set, if not, I need to redesign my enclosure.
TIA,
John Walton

I am new to stamps but I can answer this one. Yes. How do I know?
Well over my BBQ on the patio hangs a cheap 6v lantern from walmart.
I drilled two holes in the back end, run a cord through it and hook
it over the roof joist/ rafter/beam/stick whatever. It hangs at about
7' off the ground, pointing vertically down on top of the BBQ so I
can switch it on/off when cooking.
It has been there for three years and I have replaced the battery
once with no sign of leakage.
Interesting to note it had never occured to me to wonder about upside
down leakage. Shows the adage, "a little knowledge can be dangerous!"
be used in any position. They actually contain individual sealed cells.

The 6-volt lantern batteries with the springy terminals are sealed and can
be used in any position. They actually contain individual sealed cells.
Thank You (squidsrus85 too)
