I was told -- and I don't know this first hand -- that the standard backpack
won't drive the Noritaki. I've interfaced them, and the clock is "backwards"
so that isn't surprising. If Scott's listening, I'm sure he'll pipe in.
Scott does make a serial VFD, but the firmware is slightly different. The
Noritaki displays are very attractive.
