Has anyone here ever used or tried to use a basic stamp to decode 80 bit EBU
timecode ?

I believe there is an article in one of the Nuts & Volts of Basic Stamps
books that deals with using an atomic clock receiver chip to make your own
accurate clock. I'll have to find it again to be sure, but I think thats
where I found it. They indicated this was a better solution than hacking an
existing receiver as the chip has a data out line.

Hi Rodent :)

I think I misled you with my original post :( what I meant was the
timecode that people lay down onto video tape ETC ETC.

I can't remember exactly from my training how it's coded. But I think it's
80 bits per field (ie 50 fields sec This is for PAL land only).

Ah.... makes sense. Here is what I found on a quick web search:

http://www.philrees.co.uk/articles/timecode.htm

Looks like if you could pick off the signal it would be fairly simple for a
Stamp to do.
