hardware modfication (dangerous?)

Hi Folks,

thanks for all those who helped me with the touchpad thing, i checked the
sensors on the web, not sure if i understood how they work, I will give it a
try though it is too late for the current projekt..

Another question: due to distortion/reset -problems with a stamp I am using
to control two big air-pumps (for aquariums) and two water-valves I tried
every anti-distortion measure I could think of. When nothing ever worked I
just cut off the little circuit on the stamp that does the reset whenever
the voltage goes lower than 4 V on the Stamp. Since then it works fine
without distortion or any other problems.

Is this way to handle the problem dangerous? What are the disadvantages?

The only thing I didnot try before was the pulldowns on the programming pins
because I read about that on the group only today.
