Stand Alone Stamp

Hello Stamp Freaks
Sorry for my bad English, but I live in the Dutch speaking part of Belgium
;-)
I'm going to use a BS2 in a stand alone automotive project for driving
linear motors. (opening and closing the waste tanks of my motorhome)
Because I don't need to program the stamp "in the field", pins 1,2,3 and 4
(TX, RX, ATN, SGND) are unused.
When using a stamp in the interfering, noisy environment of a car I think I
should take some precautions, what do I do with the unconnected
communication pins, connect them via a pull up to vcc, to the ground or do I
leave them unconnected?
What is a good filtering circuit for the 12 v battery supply, just a 100 nF
cap near to the power pins of the stamp or isn't it sufficient enough.
Thanks in advance

Connect ATN and SGND to ground. Noise on the ATN pin can reset the Stamp.
