The new 1.2 IDE is much more intelligent than previous versions when
it identifies stamps. No more mysterious "hardware not found, check
power supply" message, when it should be (as it is now), something
like, "BS2e found on com1, but your program is for a BS2sx...".
The new identification process caused a problem for the Stache. The
Stache can mimic any Stamp. Jeff Martin at Parallax helped us to
resolve the major issues, but we still have to release an upgrade in
the Stache firmware to enable it to work properly with the timing of
the new IDE on some computers.
Steve Parkis has finished the Stache firmware upgrade. The new
version is 1.5. (The version # appears on the debug screen upon
programming a Stache) If you have a Stache and would like to have
its firmware upgraded, please contact Steve or me by email.
