    Azeasi,
I have downloaded GC-Prevue 9.2.0 but I did not find neither the program
GC-Prevue on the programs menu nor Prevue econ on the desktop.
I found only zip file named Prevue920.zip location F:\.
How can I get starting the GC-Prevue.

    Thank you
    Mohamed Refky

I'm assuming you meant to send this question elsewhere but not to worry.

First, get yourself a copy of PKZIP to extract the files from the archive
    (http://www.pkware.com/downloads/)
Then, once extracted, there will probably be a setup.exe or other executable
file found in the directory you extracted the files into.
Also, look for a readme.txt (or similar) file that may give clues on how to
    install and use the software.

I haven't tried this program myself but the above should still get you up
    and running.

    HTH

    Justin.

Hard to go wrong with Eagle at www.cadsoftusa.com -- I even wrote a book
about it and how to either produce your own boards or send them out to a
    board maker (see http://tinyurl.com/23p68).

    Good luck!

    Hi Mohamed,

There are two schools of thought.

One is that if you are a hobbyist and just need something simple and
do not expect to ever make large boards, you have many options as
most every vendor offers some sort of demo version. These come with
    different levels of usefulness.

I'm starting to make boards for people using my etching machine so I
have some small interest in what people use. (averaging about $25.00
    a board)

Eagle offers a free version that allows people to make small packages
and with a limited number of pins. Something around 3"x3" and 500
pins. But, this is more than enough for a hobbyist.

WinQCad is another package that offers a free version and also with
    limited capabilities. 60mm x 60mm (2.35" x2.35") and then 500 pins.

But, the one word of advice is to consider what you will need in the
    future.

If you are a student who will be doing lots of design, then get the
demo package that is one you will be using for your employer.

If you are a hobbyist who will be forever making odds and ends, then
chose what is easiest to use.

Personally, I find the WinQCad is easier to use although it lacks
some of the features I am beginning to want. Moving parts after
autorouting requires another autorouting. But the software designer
    is active in making changes.

Another thought is the cost of the full package.
Eagle is a nice stepping stone. Free demo, $99 student version, then
the price jumps fore professional, so getting all the modules will be
a pretty hefty cost for a tinkerer.

And there are others who can make the price of a new car seem low.

    Hi Dave!

As far as I know, there is no 500 pin limit on Eagle's free version. The
dimensions are 1/2 Euro card (100x80mm), two layers max, and one schematic
    sheet.

We have the full version of Eagle and for the money it is hard to beat. The
free version is very capable -- I think nearly all of our commercial boards
could have been done with the free version except for the GPMPU40 which is a
little larger than a 1/2 card.

    Hey Al,
Just purchased the GPMPU40 and already loving it. I know its
expensive to make dual sided boards with solder mask. how is the board so
    cheap? Thanks much,

    Al,

I just ordered your book from Amazon. I also downloaded the Eagle
software (Freeware version). I want to design a couple of boards, but
cannot find the appropriate chips in their library. Would you happen
to have library files for the following:

    DS1302 Real Time Clock
    DS1620 Temperature
    MAX1270 ADC
