I'm also thinking about (that means it's not a project yet) making my own
scuba computer, and It's going to require two main modules: one for real
time and one for depth.
In looking for a small depth sensor the best candidate I have come up with
is one of the pressure sensing chips from infineon. The only problem with
these seems to be the effort that will go into mechanically scaling the
actual ATM pressures to the chips pressure range which is intended for the
slight changes in atmospheric pressures at the various altitudes cars and
trucks run at.
Does anyone know more about this than I think I do? (a safe bet!)
