Echo''s on serial pins

Hi everyeon,
I've got a BS2SX in my application, and am communicating to it via
the Sin and Sout pins hooked to my PC. When I send communication to
it, it hears just fine, but it seems to be echoing the received
transmission on the Sout line. I've scoped the line, used
hyperterminal, and a Visual Basic program to verify that it isn't
just a ghost. I've also used two different stamps (both BS2SX), and
the problem is still there.
Am I missing something about the native serial port pins? Should I
be pulling something else low? High? Has anyone else seen this?
