Does anyone have any expierience using solar power to drive a small Stamp
project? How much power can you get out of a small solar panel?

    Hi Dan,

    A 5" x 5" solar panel can put out about 150 milliamps at 6 volts in
    full sun, ~1 watt), which is even enough to run a BS2SX. However, in
    shade the same panel will only generate a couple of milliamps, just
    enough to run the original BS1 but not the BS2. In a room with
    adequate reading light it will be less than 0.5 milliamp.

    Systems using solar panels usually incorporate a rechargeable battery
    to carry the system thru the night or dark periods. All the better
    if you can use the SLEEP and NAP commands to get a much lower average
    current.
