quadravox speech question

Hi Stanpers,

I got myself a quadravox speech module and a cradle to put wav. files into
it. Everything works great except:

How can I manage to play one sound after the other without delay? I picked
the highest baudrate and tried to create soundfiles with no silence in the
beginning but there is still almost a second between two sounds...

What is my mistake or is it just that way?

It's just that way. I wrote a demo program that you can download from
Parallax that concatenates word in EE, but there is still a bit of gap
between them. The reason is that the ISD chip is notorious for "clicks" and
"pops" so the Quadravox guys mute the amplifier at the end of words. This is
what creates the delay.
