Stamp hard drive interface

I was surprised that nobody responded to the question about
interfacing a BS to IDE or PCMCIA card.
I have a list of links to people who have done so for other micro
controllers at the bottom of this page:
http://www.billweller.com/basic_stamp/basic_stamp.htm
Seems to me that the Stamp should not be the orphan. I would love
to build an interface, but am new to Stamp BASIC. Got to be pretty
good on the Commodore though, and have a good hardware background.
I also have a 4 MEG ATA PC card to play with.
How about a group effort?

an IDE header on once end and a 40 pin DIP on the other. It's all
breadboarded up on a 3,800 pin breadboard, but I don't have the time to
write the software to make it work. It's been sitting here, staring at me
for over 6 weeks now.
I purchased two 8MB CF cards and I have an old 3GB drive someone gave me
that I want to use in this experiment.

I started to respond, then realized that IDE is sometimes used as
Integrated Developement Environment and didn't want to talk about
hard drives when you were talking about software.
I am interested in a 'low cost' solution. Seems there are some
versions that start in the hundreds of dollars, and not the less than
$100 range.
