What are you trying to detect / avoid? How close do you want to get to these
    things before you detect them?

A great place to start is the Acroname website
    http://www.acroname.com/index.html
They have many differant sensors for robots that will run with the basic
stamps. They also have working basic stamp code examples for each sensor
they sell. click on the link that says SENSORS under the "Our products" window.
There are also numerous helpful articles on the site.
A 2nd good source for sensor info is the Seattle robotics website. They have
many archived articles on robots in general. Many articles are for other
microprocessors, but they also have begginers articles and some basic stamp
    based robotos.

    Good luck!

I use the sonar from Polaroid cameras. I have two on my bot now
with a third on the way.

I use the Devantech SRF04 UltraSonic Ranger. It's MUCH easier to work with
than the Polaroid. I put them on all the CYBER Robots. Check them out at
    my site: http://www.cyberbound.com.
