Sorry to ask this question because it is slightly off topic but does
anyone know where to get a precision quad op amp with a bandwidth of
around 3 or 4 MHz.

Also, does anyone know of good mailing lists that I can direct my off
topic questions to in the future? Please let me know. Thanks,
Jim

    Hi Jim,
Suggest you look into devices designed and manufactured by Analog Devices.
Long time superstar of the analog world. Website is www.analog.com.

    Hi Again Jim,
Forgot to ask you if this is for a new application or retro-fit or
    replacement?
    What is the application?
    Voltage available?
    Package requirements?
    Temperature requirements?
    Etc.
Suggest you also check out Linear Technology and National Semiconductor.
    Both have web sites.
    Good hunting, Burt Schultz

    Hi Jim,

from my point of view, if it's in any way usefull in or around a
Stamp then I want to know about it. A/D, Op-amps, sensors, switches,
power relays, power supplies, keep it all on here. It helps us (me
at least) know that there are some pitfalls to watch out for.

All the discussion on circut board etching and overheating voltage
regulators and powering relays are not really off topic.

I think the paint ball velocity sensor was not off topic, those ideas
help us all push the envelope on applications not just specific
troubleshooting. (which I FIRMLY believe Paralax should take the
great troubleshooting posts off here and put in a Q & A on their
site.) I also wish the message on joining the site would have a
better message about unsubscribing and a warning of the amount of e-
mails or even a recomendation of getting the day's e-mails in one
    file instead of individually.

    Dave

You might take a look at the Linear-tech LT1499, which has a GBW of
10 mhz and rail to rail inputs and outputs. Input Vos all the way to
the rails is 150 microV typical, on power supplies from 2.2 volts to
    30 volts. Pretty remarkable.

The reason there are so many different kinds of op amps is that there
are many many different characteristics that can of overriding
importance in your application. The manufacturers' web sites all
have a "parametric search" engines that allows you to enter the
characteristics that are most important in your application and
narrow down your search in stages.
