Racing data logger

I would like to build a data logger using the basic stamp 2.
I pull a pro-stock garden tractor and was wanting to measure data on my wheel
speed, rpms, temp of the head and exhaust, and torque of the engine.

I have a electronic degree but do not have much experience in programming. I
was wandering if anyone has built one of these units or can this be done with
the basic stamp 2?
