hi,
i'm trying to find a way to connect 60 or so simple on/off switches to a
computer so that i can use them as a kind of keyboard.
as far as i can see all i have to do is assign a number to each switch and send
that number in binary through RS232, right? i just need something to convert a
switch press to a digital signal.
the questions are:
can i use a basic stamp to do this?
if so, is it hard? (i don't have much time)
what i would really appreciate is some pointer to a little bit of code and
(gulp) a circuit diagram that would sort me out. since all you guys seem to have
moved onto making a stamp run the worlds economy and make a decent cup of tea,
i'm entering something that has already left me behind.
thanks in advance
garry

PAK-VI (http://www.al-williams.com/awce/pak6.htm)? Otherwise you'll have a
great big shift register or a lot of I/O expanders
(http://www.al-williams.com/awce/pak3.htm).
