[font=arial, helvetica]OK. This may sound strange, but about a week ago i came into possesion of an
Apple Newton eMate 300 (which is 3.5 years old and usually a collector's
item) and i still want to put it to work. This is basicaaly a palm
pilot-style mobile computer (and by the way it is still better than most of
tha Palms) equipped with the following ports: IrDa, miniDIN8M serial
connector (apple style), AppleTalk network port and a PC card slot (type
i/ii/iii). It runs a system called newtonOS. It has BASIC programming tools,
a script host for serial communications and a utility which controls the IrDa
(i dont remember the frequecy but i can look it up).
So, my questions are:
1) Is it possible to interface it to the stamp so they can work as different
-level processors (stamp reads sensors and runs motors and eMate does the
logical thinking). This is just for theory, I have no practical use for it
now. (yeah, and eMate has a 25mhz Arm processor. Just in case)
2) Can I use the storage@ the eMate to store parts of the data/code?
3) Can I interface them through IrDa tranciever?
4) CAn I use the eMate to programm the stamp? Or does it always require a
PC-based compiler? If so, can I put the compiled file into the eMate's memory
and later send it to the stamp?

Any help would be greatly apprieciated! Thanks!
Sorry for making you read so much.
