MAX186 is 8ch 12 bit serial AD converter that could be easily interfaced
to BS2 (4 pins). There are several resources avaiable about interfacing.
I think it could be find at Parallax listings or tech doc. Remember to
use the recomended filter capacitors as stated in the data sheet.

Although it is made for the MAX187 (a single channel "cousin" of the
MAX186) most of the information will apply to the MAX186, i.e. using
shiftin and shifout to interface with a 3-wire device. Conceptually
they are very similar. With the MAX186, however, you have to choose
which channel you want to take data from. You could always request
some samples for the MAX187, use the tutorial, and get that working.
Once you master a 1-channel ADC, you can easily move on to the 8-
channel!
BTW...the ACPP is Maxim's code for a DIP package. The base number
(MAX186) refers to the part.
Good luck with your project!

*Add a RTC, 256k EEPROM, 8 extra I/O, and an 8-channel ADC to the BS2

The reason it is a "free" A/D converter is because Maxim gives out
free samples. Go to their site and request the part(s) you need.

Your use of Yahoo! Groups is subject to http://docs.yahoo.com/info/terms/
site it was on. It was a electronics web site that somebody had a link to.
