Looking for Text-to-Speech chip

Hi Stampers,

I'm looking for a chip, as seen in older console games (ie. Mattel, C-64, TI-99), that converts text (send from a Basic Stamp2) to speech (audio).
I have seen several pages on the web converning this subject, but they all use really old chips which are hard to get (although they sound very cool). Can anyone help me either find one or more of these older chips like the SPO256 ? or help me find alternative chips ?

thanks in advance,
Hans

Jameco still has the National Digitalker chip sets in their catalog.

RC Systems has a line of text-to-speech modules that give really
good results. Highly programmable parameters ... sounds great on
a robot with a Darth Vader voice. A little pricey.

I have one of their older modules and haven't looked at their
site in a couple of years, so I'm don't know what they presently
    have available. http://www.rcsys.com/

    Have fun,
