How to UNSUBSCRIBE from the BasicStamps List

To UNSUBSCRIBE, just send mail
to basicstamps-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com from the address
where you receive the list. Subject and content don't matter.
Parallax really needs to put this information in their "Welcome" message
as well as into the footer that gets inserted into each message. The
people having problems either don't know how to read e-mail headers or
don't think to look there. And it's not that they're dumb; it's a lousy
place to hide this information when it's the only place.
Does anyone at Parallax read mail to basicstamps-owner? My last mail to it
had a delivery problem. Is the mailbox full?

might as well mention it. I did the textbook unsubscribe procedure on two
email accounts, then tried to subscribe using the email address that is my
default "mail to" address. What I have now is a mess - I have to use one of
the originals that for some reason won't unsubscribe, and every time I want
to send a message to the list I have to manually change my 'mail to'
address, hoping I can remember which one is registered with the list. All
the Yahoo links take me to more links to nowhere.
Now that this is off my chest.... I feel better....

I understand what you are saying, but I don't understand the real
problem. If you have several subscriptions to the list, simply send e-mail to:
basicstamps-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
from each e-mail account which you want to unsubscribe from the list.
If your RoadRunner account has multiple e-mail addresses and you can't tell
which is getting the unwanted mail, then download the mail from each
mailbox separately and if you see basicstamp mail to a mailbox you don't
want it coming to, unsubscribe using the username on that mailbox.
If you've had this problem quite a while that's one thing, but if your
unsub requests are only a few hours old, just be patient. They might work yet.
Word of advice? Keep a written list of things you sign up for and the
information you give so you can unsubscribe later. In the case of
YahooGroups, always subscribe via their site after logging in under a
single ID you use for such subscriptions. Their web pages that offer to
link accounts opened by various other means to a single YahooGroups ID are
a total disaster!
