Shiftout code for Basic Stamp 1

Hi Everyone,
I'm a complete newbie to the basic stamp and this is my first
project. I chose the BS1 and am now discovering that SHIFTOUT does
not work in this version. Does anyone have code to do the same job?
I've got 16 bits of data needing to go MSB first to an LCD Driver.
