Modem & FTP?

Does anyone know of an embedded type of modem that can be hooked up
to a STAMP that can support PPP & FTP?

I'd like to have a STAMP that calls an ISP and uploads it's status to
a web page. However, I would like the setup small and fairly low
powered... so, no connection to a full computer is necessary.

Thanks for any info anyone can give!

You might check into the imodem internet device from ConnectOne that
is sold by Parallax, with an application note.
