multiple IC''s using same data pins

Hello;
I've ran into a bit of a problem with my project I have run out of
pins however I was looking at the datasheets for the IC's I have to
connect three 74HC165 (parralel in serial out register) and two
ADC0834's. Is my assumption true that if I drive the clk inhibit pin
on the 74hc165 high on all but the one I want to use then have all
the clock pins connect to a common stamp pin and all the shift load
pins connected to another would I be able to read only the IC I had
selected. Also for the adc0834's I was thinking of doing the same
thing however driving the CS pin low on the one I don't want to use.
also if possible I'd like the data pin for all of these to be common.
Will this work or is there a better way of doing it.
Thank You
