Need to implement at least 5 speech activated commands.
Thanks.

train it to respond to a couple of commands to turn on/off a LED. We are
new to the Stamp arena, and at first we did not understand the communication
protocol between it and the stamp - eventually we figured it out. They do
not have BS2 examples for their product.

it seems to require a lot to make it work.
During training, we had to "yell" into the mic at times for it to pick up on
the word we wanted to train. The documentation was not very good, and there
are no Stamp examples. Similar sounding words will make it through.
"Usually", it could pick up the word we said from 3 to 5 feet. Almost
always, it picked the word I said from the list of trained words. Because
of either our lack of Stamp programming skills, or the weirdness of how the
module communicates with the Stamp - our programs got quite lengthy.
Commands and responses are transmitted/received in byte clusters. Each byte
must be processed a bit at a time taking into consideration the state of a
single pin used to link it to the module. It can be made to respond to
single commands ( i.e. Left, Right, etc. ) or multiple word commands ( i.e.
Light / On, Motor / Off ).
We have put the recognition part of our robot on hold for the time being.
We thought it would be a cool project. It works, and for $50 it has been
okay. Right now we are working on wheels, motors, and the body. I want to
continue with the multiple word commands, so I will probably pick it back up
again in the future.
On a side note: I have a copy of John Iovine's book titled "Robots,
Androids, and Animatrons 12 Incredible Projects You Can Build!"
It has a small section about Stamps. It also has another section of Speech
Control. He uses a HM2007 "single-chip CMOS voice-recognition LSI circuit".
You might consider the book and/or the chip.
Good Luck,
Bryan Smith
