RS232 -> PC oddity

Hi all
I am using two stamp pins (BS2SX) for RS232 communication to a PC.
Data transmitted from the BS2 to the PC is flawless - Always.
Data transmitted to the BS2 from the PC is a bit hit and miss.
The BS2 might receive the first 5 bytes, sometimes 20 and then miss
a byte. It has no pattern that I can see and is driving me crazy.
My question is this :
Has anyone else encountered this ?
Could it be due to the BS2 not using true RS232 voltages ?
Should I be using a MAX233 anyway ?
Helllllllllp!!!
Regards
Steve Percy

I do this all the time, using a Max232, and haven't
had this problem.
Hope that helps

try 4800 and see what happens.
(Presuming you are using 9600)

Your BS2sx can probably not follow the speed of your PC, especially
if you use SERIN formatters.
Try lowering your bad rate.
