led blips..?

Can someone explain the phenomenon of the BS2 dropping
a signal for a fraction of a second when a pause is
issued? I get this double blink and I'm trying to
determine how to correct it. I've seen some
references to this before, so if anyone could point me
in the right direction, I would appreciate it...

The manual has info about this. The stamp restarts every second, to count how
many seconds it has been in sleep.
