Placing hyperlinks in a message

How does one place a hyperlink in an egroups post? I've noticed lots
of links, but I'm not able to do it using the web interface. Am I
missing something?

    If you type in the whole thing, like this:

    http://robostuff.com/dprg/bill_boyer

    Your email program should recognize it as a hyperlink and turn it blue /
    underline it as soon as you go to the next line of text. Outlook and Outlook
    Express both do it.
