Scrolling LED display interface question

I have an old Scrolling LED display from Radio Shack.· Cat no. 63-950 "Electronic LED Display Sign Board".· The preprogrammed messages indicate that is is called EMD-1 made by Micronta.· I was wondering if any of you·out there knows if there is a way to·"hack" or modify·it so I can control the message text from a PIC.· I think it would be cool if I could program the messages from my computer via a PIC on my serial port.· Anybody know anything about this LED Display?· Btw, it uses a Z84C0006PEC Z80 CPU.· Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
