BS2E Power Supply message

I have a problem that's come up in the discussion. It's with the BS2E
being detected, but not responding. I'm using the latest stampw.exe
that allows you to set it to see all the BS2 series. None of them
will complete the download. It's apparently a BS2E problem because
other chips will accept the download using the same computer, power,
and connections. I've gone through Parallax's check list involving
older editors, Windows NT, and laptop issues. Problem remains. Anyone
got any suggestions?

    Hi Chris,

I've had the same problem with the BS2p. I've found that the default
STAMP mode (under Edit=>Preference=>Editor Operation) needs to match
the STAMP type you're downloading to. I've had good success with
making sure that matches the STAMP type. Also, include the { $STAMP
BS2e } directive on the first line of your program. That way the
editor knows what type of STAMP to expect.

    Good Luck!

One more note... Sometimes my editor won't download when the Default
COM port is set to AUTO. When I manually set it to COM1 (or whatever
COM port you are using), it works. This is especially true of my
    laptop.

    Good Luck!

Thanks for responding. I've gone to the editor
and tried all combinations of port and STAMP. In
AUTO, it'll find the STAMP, but not communicate.
In COM1 or 2, it can't find it at all and says to
check the serial cable or power. Now I've got 2
STAMPS that do this. (Have a class using 14
    Gro-Bots.) Hope it's not contagious.
