Freq ME! :-)

Hello All

Dose anyone know of a way to make a BS2 mesure a Freq? I was
thinking of using a PAC from AWC. But I dont know what one to use,
will it work, And how would I use it. I dont want to tie up the
stamp, so i want to use a part that will hook to the stamp.

Thanks
TC

Download the StampWorks experiments from Parallax. ·One of the experiments
shows how to use the Stamp to measure frequency.

I took a look at that, and that is a good way to do it. But I nead
the stamp to tell me the freq in the field not in front of the
    computer.

What is the range you want to measure ?
Maybe COUNT can do the job.

The PAK-VII will measure 8 channels of pulse width from which you can derive
the frequency. You can also do it with a PAK-III or IV to measure pulse
inputs or count on one channel (but has other things it can do too).

Either of these chips would work -- which one you want will depend on
exactly what you are trying to do and what else you want to do.

No problem. ·Connect an LCD -- also shown in the StampWorks experiments.

This is for my car and I am using the stock VF Displays. That is why
I nead the stamp to read a freq. and that is why I nead a sepret part
to do the mesuring. so the stamp can control the display,Incramint
the odometer, and control the bargraph tach.

    Thanks for the input
