Hi everyone,

I would like to use multiple LTC1298 ADC's with one BS2. I am thinking I only
would need one additional line for each extra ADC I add. Is there any
problems with doing something like this? ·I want to use two right now, but
will eventualy have 3. I am not so hot with code for adding devices, mostly I
use code snippets I find and start working my way thru them. Any info or
insights would be most appreciated.

Thanx,

Any particular reason you don't want to use 8-channel ADCs such as LTC1290,
LTC1294, etc?

I would definitly go that route in the future. On this project I have already
had 6 boards made and they are to accomodate the ltc 1298, what happened was
all of a sudden I found out I needed a bunch more ADC inputs then i had
counted on. This project has become a nightmare, I told my dad I could have
some equipment made for the company he works for, now the deadline is here
and I still am trying to get the first prototype finished. I have not slept
comfortably in weeks :(
I am hoping on trying out the prototype tonight, so far there has been all
sorts of things going wrong. I screwed up on a few of boards and had to slice
and jump traces. there are portions that I have not even tryed out yet. The
fun just never stops ;)

back to work for me

I have also used the LTc1298 as part of my injector controller.

I would have been nice if the converter had at least two more
channels.

Does any one no how long it takes to read the two channels????

Hello. I have designed a STAMP "carrier" which is made to accomodate
a 24 pin STAMP and has 8 8-bit ADC channnels, 8 extra I/O ports, RTC
with built-in battery backup, up to 256k EEPROM, built-in 3-wire and
I2C bus (with integrated pull-up resistors) and a programming port.

Since you've already had some boards made, it most likely won't work
with this project, but it could help on a future project. It would
give you the extra ADC channels and give you some extra I/O.

Details of the design are at: www.high-
techgarage.com/products/supermax.php if you are interested.

Good luck with your project!
