Is there any way to get a Texas Instruments Calculator (TI-83) to
communicate with a Basic Stamp2? I know there's a little jack on the
bottom of the calculator for a link cable, but I want to be able to
connect that to my Basic Stamp2 so I can download programs for the
TI-83 off the internet, download them on the stamp, and download the
programs to the calculator. How would I program and connect it to do
something like that?
Thanks.

ah yes... the TI-83 link cable.... goto sami.ticalc.org and build the
officail software-compatible link, or goto www.ticalc.og and click
hardware and goto link cables and see the diagrams for the $4 serial
link. I use the serial one, with the CAL program and it works great.
The actual cost is aroung $15 tho
serial port to the calculator using 2 zener diodes, 3 resistors, and an LED.
The schematic is available on the web somewhere. I built mine from RS parts
for six dollars. The software that is needed can be downloaded from TI's
website for free.

website is http://www.ticalc.org
You can also buy one that supposedly works better when the calc has lower
battery life (it is more sophisticated) from about $20 retail.
