Stampers,

Does anyone know how to make a web server? Will the imodem or mondomini
from parallax either do the job, or help do the job? Will I need software?
I'm aware that I'm currently running windows NT "workstation" is there a
windows NT "server"?

Thanks in advance,

David Fixemer

Your question is a little vague. Do you want an interface between the stamp
and the internet, or are you looking to set up a web site (e.g. like
www.yahoo.com)? If it's the latter, look into "Personal Web Server" or
"Internet Information Server" (I assume you are looking at windows
    platforms).

The mondomini/imodem are gateways to the internet for embedded devices such
as the stamp. The mondomini does it in software; the imodem in hardware.
The mondomini is a webserver, but in a limited capacity. The imodem is more
like a modem, but with some special capabilities.

Yes, there is a server version of NT - "Windows NT Server 4.0" (old
version), and "2000 Server" (latest version). There are several different
flavors of 2000 Server, but I am already off topic here... As a side note,
"workstation" was replaced with "2000 professional" in the latest version of
    NT.

    A stamp won't do a web server. . .
Other than that there are many ways to make a web server.

I wouldn't know exactly how to go about implementing a web server with the
Basicstamp, but here are some sources using an external device:

    http://www.mycal.net/wsweb/design/
    http://www.iready.org/
    http://www-ccs.cs.umass.edu/~shri/iPic.html

    Good luck!

Not true Doug. Embeddedethernet.com has a device you can hook up to the
stamp. There is also some code on their web site for the Stamp.
Embeddedether.net will also work with the stamp
