Detecting sound in BS2

Hello Everybody,
I had posted this question yesterday. But, am not sure if it really
reached the group. Please ignore if you had already read this one.

I thought I had this working in the past. but for sure not
consistently.

I want to detect sound in my miniature robot. What is the best way to
doing that. I can use a audio amp LM386 if needed.

Please suggest
