Better yet, simply place it on a web site and post the url so that those
interested can visit it. Others will not be annoyed by it as with the
attachment.
Please think before sending large files like
.bmp's & .jpg's to the list. It's very time-
consuming to download them, for us dial-up
campesinos, anyway, and usually can be worked
around. For instance, you might offer to send
the file privately to those interested.

I heartily second this point of view. Not everyone on the list may want to
receive long, time-consuming (on a dial-up connection) attachments. You can
mention you have an attachment available, and those who want to see it can
contact you off-list. Thanks!

Please think before sending large files like
.bmp's & .jpg's to the list. It's very time-
consuming to download them, for us dial-up
campesinos, anyway, and usually can be worked
around. For instance, you might offer to send
the file privately to those interested.

I heartily second this point of view. Not everyone on the list may want to
receive long, time-consuming (on a dial-up connection) attachments. You can
mention you have an attachment available, and those who want to see it can
contact you off-list. Thanks!

Well said. There's definitely a lack of thought at times in this list.
