CD-RW

Fellow stampers,

Is $120.00 a good price for a brand-spankin-new cd-rw drive? It is an
Iomega brand. I've heard HP makes both a great drive and all the goodies to
go along with it. (Covers, Labels, etc.) Please feel free to make any and
all comments.

Thanks,

David Fixemer

If its one of the Iomega external USB drives, they are fine for making CDs,
but the software does not allow you to copy CDs.

I have seen them as low as $99, but rarely $120 is not bad.
got to www.pricewatch.com and get some online prices.

Check www.gamecopyworld.com for good reviews of CD
    burners.

www.pricewatch.com is good for some of the best deals
on computer equipment on the net.

Make sure you get a writer that is capable of RAW mode

We just got an Iomega Predator external USB burner for $250 and it allows
    copies.
My MCSE instructor brought the Iomega ZipCD external burner to class and
    copied CDs.

She may have been using different software. I don't know.

Could be. Mine would not even burn copies of some CD's I made on it
originally. I've got the Iomega Zip 650 BTW.

Any chance you can find out what sofware and version they are using?

Nope. I'm out of class and she moved.

I'm using the latest (4.02d) version of Adaptec EZCD Creator. Their disk
copying utility works well. You can burn on the fly (I found it to make a
lot of coasters) or you can make an image first (very reliable).

At home I use CDRWin and sometimes Nero (I haven't gotten used to the
    interface yet).
