Graham-

See page 109 of BASIC Stamp Programming Manual 2.0 for a circuit that
works. That and a DTMFOUT instruction will get you there.

My phone company recently switched to 10 digit dialing for local
calls. The requirement to dial a 3 digit area code goes against a
long term habit. Does anyone have any ideas on a simple stamp
    circuit
that would always dial a preprogramed 3 digit area code (unless
    disabled for long distance).

Dialing the phone number is easy with the BS2. ·You could certainly build a
circuit that dials the your area code when you press a button. ·Of course,
you could press two more buttons -- the ones on your phone -- to dial the
local area code and use your Stamp for something else.

We switched to 10 digits in Dallas a couple of years ago. ·It didn't take
long to get used to it.[/font]

    Graham--
In the words of a guy I knew who worked across the street from the sewage
treatment plant, "It's not so bad, once you get used to it."

You can also buy a dialer for about $30-$50.

What about the requirements to be FCC part 68 compliant, or does that only
    apply to devices being sold?
