I am currently working on an R/C airplane with GPS for autopilot. I purchased the garmin ETREX to work with on this project and so far it is a wonderful piece of equipment, the only downfall is having to use garmins cable and plug. I also have the ETREX Summit which has a built in barometer for altitude and an electronic compass for when speeds are under 10 MPH.

Just FYI, the etrex goes for 100-115 and the summit is 175-205

    I've seen advertisments for GPS's that are mini-circuit boards with
    header post/plugs that are tiny,· inch by an inch....

    I can't recall where right now, I think they were motorola....
