adxl xxxx ?

Has anyone worked with ADXL series of chips
with the BS2sx?

I am looking for the best/Easiest chip to interface with.
My application will be monitor and record Shock data
during a 8hr period on a press at my shop. Three presses
are punching 1/4 inch steel. We want to record data once
a month or every 3 for various reasons including being able
to determine wear on all the machines. There are 18 machines
total, of course not all punch that heavy of steel.

Any ideas would also be helpful.
