Embedded SF--what no Java Stamp??

As a former SE and Java evangelist at SUn I am really looking forward to the
Java Stamp and getting rid of Basic--hate the syntax compared to Java and
Python. Plus there are so many platform independent tools for Java. When are
we gong to see it live?

Parallax @ Embedded Systems Conference!
April 9-13, 2001 in San Francisco
Get a free pass at www.parallaxinc.com
================================

Dear friends,

Why visit Parallax booth at this conference?

Parallax has created a Stamper's dream for ESC this year! Our garage-style
booth is a shop for you - all of our products are shown "in action" with
technical staff on hand to talk about BASIC Stamps and your projects,
whatever they may be. We will offer 20% off of any Parallax products
purchased from the show (limit $1,000 and for in-person visitors only) and
provide a free screwdriver for visiting.

The people who write our software and hardware, answer the tech support
calls and accept your orders would like to meet you. It's a pleasure for us
to know who's on the other side since we're all "virtual". Our social hour
is Tuesday, April 10th at 7:00 p.m.

We've got a neat presentation of demos that you can work with:

o New BS2p Demo Board and "Plus Pack" documentation by Jon Williams
o Model train control (Marklin "Mini-Club) with handheld-remote
o Dollhouse loaded with sensors viewed/controlled via internet @ Mondo-Mini
o BS2p scrolling LED display with I2C drivers
o Robo-head
o Neon Parallax sign (6' wide) with letters controlled by you and an IR
remote
o Matt Parnell's new "WeatherStamp 2" project
o Earth measurements environmental data logger for education
o BASIC Stamp comparison shows how the new Stamps compare to each other
o "Video Bot" can be driven around the booth by joystick control
o Two-foot "Toddler" walks the booth detecting objects
o Industrial control thermostat example with graphic LCD
o X-10 control of our booth lights
o GPS interface using the BS2p
o Motor control examples
o Boe-Bot arena with bots that follow each other and black lines

If you can't attend the conference we'll put our entire booth on the web
site the week after the conference.

About the Embedded Systems Conference

On April 9-13, 2001 Parallax will be exhibiting our products at the Embedded
Systems Conference in San Francisco (Moscone Center). The web site for ESC
is www.esconline.com. This is the largest embedded show in the United
States, maybe the entire world. There's lots of complex stuff that takes a
team of engineers to understand, but there's plenty of refreshing and simple
technologies we can actually use.

We hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Ken Gracey, Parallax
