Singing fish hack

I've been reading about how to modify those annoying singing fishes
(http://www.ai.mit.edu/~vona/bass/bass.html) with an ATMEL AT89S8252
microcontroller. It looks like it shouldn't be hard to use a stamp
instead. Has anyone already done this?
